Well the wait is over, if you remember back in September I entered The Studio designer contest and the overall all theme for the kits we had to design was All in a Day. I was lucky enough to get through to the second round and the theme for that was Summer Afternoon, we had to chose our own colour swatch and create a mini kit. I've now added to that kit and am proud to present to you Summer Afternoon part 2. Don't worry if you've previously downloaded the freebie from the Studio as this extra kit doesn't have any of the freebie items in it. These kits were the first ones that I created due to the demand from many friends of mine that follow the Pagan faith as this style of kits were not readily available for digi-scrapping. Originally they started as freebies and then gradually added to once I became a fully fledged designer. These kits cover the main Pagan celebrations of Samhain, Yule, Ostara, Beltane, Imbolc and Mabon. 138 papers and 341 elements and one complete alpha make up this bundle. The Studio Designer Contest 2011 - Round 3

Well the requirements for this round were rather tough, no CU products allowed and a colour palette that was very monochromatic...we could add our own colours but working with only 4 papers and 10 elements that made it rather difficult in my mind but I've completed it and now it's in the hands of the judges, more finger nail biting until we find out who progresses to Round 4. Up for a challenge then why not pop on over to Nuts4Digi and see whats on offer this month. I'm hosting the variety challenge and boy have I got a good one for you this month....You are in for a treat this month and rest assured that you will get nothing but variety with my challenges. For this month I’d like you to find something in your neighbourhood that is historical and scrap it. I hear you say huh that’s easy well as usual there’s a twist. I want you to find a picture and scrap it but you must scrap it in the manner appropriate to the era of the history. IE if you pick something from the 60’s then your page must be retro or hippie, 50’s would be say rock n roll, 30’s would be art deco…or you could do it to relate to the history eg if you pick something that is military history then you could do your page with a military theme….you get the general idea … I’d also like a bit of journaling so that we know what your historical item is all about. I’d love to see old and new pics if available.

I chose the rocks that make up our retaining walls for the historical aspect. They were from the original stonework from the local pub just up the corner from us. As they original pub was built in 1853 I did my layout with a vintage theme.

And here is my layout If the walls could talk as an idea/example to get you all going.

My first challenge

Wahooo I'm hosting my first challenge at Nuts4Digi I'll be looking after the Variety Challenges and you can bet on getting lots of variety over the next few months. Those that know me from where ever, will know that my challenges can be exactly that, a real challenge. July's challenge is a mix n match kind...you're scratching your heads wondering what on earth this is all about. Here's how the challenge works. You use your date of birth and age to find the elements for your page. My date of birth is 23/03/1961, and I'm 48. Add each set of numerals until you have a single digit.

This is what mine is:

Month (0+3) = 3

Day (2+3) = 5

Year (1+9+6+1)=17 (1+7) = 8

Age (4+9) = 13 (1+3) = 4

There are four categories: (my items are in bold)

Month = Subject/Inspiration Ad Jingle

Day = Title 1 alpha & 1 Font

Year = Element Bling

Age = Paper Dots

Then use the following chart to find your "mix".

Greetings All, well I've just been accepted as a designer at Nuts4Digi I'm very proud to belong here as it's an Australian site and well I am Australian and we need to support each other as much as we can. Digital Craft Cottage

It's with a heavy heart that I'm removing all links to Digital Craft Cottage from my blog and I ask that anyone who wishes to purchase any of the kits designed by myself via email tailz@adam.com.au rather than the Digital Craft Cottage.

I have put my faith and trust in the DCC shoppe and its owner, only to have to fight to get payment for her sales. However since late last year the owner, Lisa has refused to reply to any emails, site messages, etc, and I've now been made aware that this has also been done to other designers in the shoppe.

The scrapbooking community is largely an honorable and harmonious one but its people like this that ruin it for everyone. I only hope she resolves to pay the designers in her shoppe but in the meantime I ask again that if you wish to purchase the kits I have designed please email me directly and until I get into a new store I'm sure we can come to some sort of payment arrangement. It is possible given time that I will open my own store but need to take baby steps for the time being.

We see a lot of kits that are unique to USA or are versatile for other countries, but Sunburnt Country all about Australia. There are a few kits on the market but not very many that are dedicated wholly to this wonderful country. With the background papers in this kit I've tried to catch the essence of our outback from the dark greys of a stormy sky, to the reds of our soil and the dry earth during droughts. The elements have all been based on a variety of Australian native flora and fauna, along with some icons.

There are also many parts of this kit that can be used for all sorts of layouts and it's over 100mb of downloads. You are also able to buy a set of 3 alphas and word art of Australian colloquialisms separately. I also have a set of 4 quick pages that are either a freebie bonus with purchase of the full kit or you can buy these separately if you desire.

Look what I found on my PC, forgot that I'd finished this mini kit...well I'll call it mini as it doesn't have all the usuals bits I put in. Was hunting thru my design folder looking for something and there it was Back to School

I found so many beautiful kits with all the nice little girly elements of bows, ribbons, flowers etc that just don't work for our guys. Most male kits are usually theme orientated..this one is in browns and blues with a leather look to some of the backgrounds, a couple of quick pages ...now these will be separate and some cool fun masculine bits and bobs, I should hopefully get the quick pages up sometime this week so as I said stay tuned :)

Well bout time I ventured back here. I've been really busy creating a scrapbook slide show for my Mum for Mothers Day and her birthday. There's 41 pages and alot of the them are of my dear Dad who passed quite a few years ago. I do hope it'll bring her happiness as well as a lot of tears - well I don't mean I want her to cry :) but you know what I mean - , as it did me in creating it. When Mum and & Dad married back in 1951 they mucked up the wedding photos so I've tried to fix them as best as possbile and I had them printed using Scrapbooks Please, and yes I was very pleased indeed with the result. So Mum now has a nice wedding album even if it's a little late lol

So I've now joined a new scrap site RAKScraps and have entered the following in the Mega Kit April Challenge..and this is it...what ya reckon ???

IT'S FINALLY ARRIVED!!! WOW the huge Aussie mega kit Sunburnt Country…I guess I can call it mega coz there’s 23 backgrounds, also every state amd territory has it’s own mini kit with 2 backgrounds and 4 elements each. There’s 4 quick pages, 9 frames, 3 alphas, and 3 pages of Aussie sayings with 1 for us Adults ;)…a little rude but not too bad lol….numberous tags and brads, a whole folder full of Aussie themed dur of course or else it wouldn’t be an Australian kit would it now….with over 40 different embellishments…if you can’t find something to use well there’s just no pleasing ya !! I've had heaps of trouble uploading this to 4shared and have fortunately found another file sharing site....DivShare...so you'll find some of the kit is on 4shared and of course the other is DivShare...I've tested the zip files so all should be good, but if it's not please let me know and I'll see what I can do :)

WOW I didn't realise it's been so long since I was here. Sorry to any of you who may have been checking back here in hope of another freebie I've been busy doing other stuff. I am currently in the middle of a few freebies for you... for all my Australian mates I've been working on a huge Australian theme freebie for you, it's loaded with stuff and with the help of many who have submitted ideas for it, it's grown considerably and I've not managed to be able to stop. WOAH, just finished changing the ole layout of the blog. What do you think?.....just added a slide show of some of my scrap pages...with the weekend finally here I might add a few more bits and pieces. Well time for another freebie to share, this one was inspired by trying to do a page of some pics of my hubby and son. I've had this pic of my husband from when he was 16 and the resemblance to our son at the same age is so uncanny that I just had to grab a shot of him to compare. Mind you getting the pic took some doing and plenty of bribes I must add....cost me a few bucks to get the pic and the whinging I had to put up with was unbeliveable....Once I had the pics I needed something to use so I started to playing in Photoshop and this was the end result..... an new kit. Not sure if I like the name but I'll do for now unless someone can think of something better............. Presenting

Well we in South Oz are experience some unusually and extremely hot weather for November, we have had temps in the low to middle 30's (Celsius for those still in Fahrenheit) with 36 forecast tomorrow. It's going to get worse before it cools, the forecasters are saying that we have 39 to look forward to by Tuesday, thank heavens for air conditioning :). These temps for us are usual but not for this time of year. We don't get really really hot until January/February and then we experience high 30 to 40................yuk!!! It's funny actually coz I have just completed a new kit that was inspired by a page I have done for a challenge that was hosted over at Scrapbook Flair. The page was depicting the Mayan Civilisation and I created by own background for it, so impressed with the way it turned out I decided to create a whole kit around it... the colours also fit well with our current hot weather........... Here's a preview for you.

Well daylight saving has just started in South Oz and I'm trying to get used to the idea that it's nearly 8pm and the sun hasn't quite set. Well folks I haven't forgotten you, just been very busy trying to think up and create designs so I can share more with you. My latest kit is now ready for download. It's called Tash and was inspired by a good friend of mine from where I work. She loves anything that sparkles and hearts, so whilst doing a tutorial for a diamond filled heart it made me think of her and I went ahead and created this kit. I do hope you like it.

Well I have just managed to successfully upload another kit to share with you all. It's taken a few days to upload as I have had difficulty with dropouts etc, but it finally worked tonight. Please leave me a message as I love reading them and it makes me feel that I'm not all on my own here in cyberspace :) all I need to be able to do now is upload the preview for you as I'm having so much trouble doing this and getting extremely peeved to say the least.
